PRAISE AND THANK GOD
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said God
suggested turning a valley into gold for his use, but
he replied: "No, my Lord, but let me have enough to
eat and be hungry on alternate days. Then when I am
hungry, I shall make supplication to Thee and make
mention of Thee, and when I have enough (to eat) I
shall praise and thank Thee." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1353
PRAISE GOD EVEN IN ADVERSITY
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The
first to be summoned to Paradise on the Day of
Resurrection will be those who praise God in (both)
prosperity and adversity." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 730
PRAISING GOD CAUSES SINS TO FALL
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once came to
a tree with withered leaves. He struck the tree with
his staff and scattered the leaves. The Prophet then
said: "(Saying) 'Praise be to God,' 'Glory be to God,'
'There is no diety but God,' and 'God is most great'
causes sins to fall away just as the leaves of that
tree were falling." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 737
